The holiday season officially kicks off in Downtown Oakville tonight with our Tree Lighting Ceremony in Centennial Square (120 Navy Street in front of Oakville Public Library). The tree is scheduled to light up around 8 p.m. but there’s lots more to see and do before and after, like:

Get started on your holiday shopping
Browse our Holiday Market to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list. You’ll find hand-made artisan goods from Dove + Arrow, Maker’s Mojo and Ten Thousand Villages; gourmet olive oil and vinegar from Olives en folie; housewares and culinary gifts from Nicetys; British treats from The British Grocer; beauty products from The Ten Spot; and so much more.

Warm up with a beverage
Whether it’s a steaming cup of hot cocoa from Tribeca Coffee Co, a beer from the WORKS Burger or a drink from Paradiso’s licensed patio, we’ll have plenty of beverages to warm your spirits on this cold winter night.

Indulge in some comfort food
Enjoy finger foods from Paradiso and The Works Burger, freshly baked bread from the COBS Bread trailer, gluten free treats from Sugar Suite, and a holiday classic – roasted chestnuts!

Matt Zaddy and his band will be playing all of your favourite Christmas classics, and we also have a stunning vocal performance from the Tempus Choral Society for you to sing along to. Plus, rumour has it, Santa himself will be making an appearance during the event.

Strike a pose
We’re lighting up Downtown Oakville with our 3D illuminated ornament and our LED swings. Create Christmas memories as you pose for a photo with your loved ones in front of these festive fixtures. PLUS share your photos from the event on social for your chance to win a toy Mercedes-AMG electric ride-on car ($450 value). Simply follow/like @mboakville on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and share your photo using #MBOTreeLighting on the social platform of your choice! The winner will be selected and contacted on Monday, November 18 and you can enter throughout the weekend for your chance to win.
