Femme Bar dubs itself “North America’s tiniest salon” and, as the saying goes, good things come in small packages. At just 386 square feet, the cozy little salon features separate stations for manicures, pedicures and lash services, and even a selfie wall where customers can strike a pose after their treatments.

The efficient use of space makes sense when you consider owner Lucia Dias’ background. She was an interior designer for 30 years before a car accident left her unable to continue in the field. She decided to switch careers and pursue her passion for the beauty industry. “I was already doing nails and lashes for my friends and family for fun,” says Lucia. “It was something I could still do and a way to be outside of the house around wonderful women all day.”

She became a licensed aesthetician and opened Femme Bar with husband Duarte in the popular King’s Arms plaza at the corner of Church and Reynolds Streets. One of their most popular services is their veneer manicure using Cuccio Naturale, a line of all-natural nail lacquer that lasts up to three weeks and doesn’t cause nails to become brittle and discoloured.

“We love the product,” Lucia says, noting that people are travelling all the way from Toronto just to try it. Another popular service is their deluxe pedicure, which uses a luxurious mix of milk, sea salt and honey. Every month, they’re planning to release a new signature pedicure featuring a different relaxing scent.

With its high quality products and excellent customer service (they’re already receiving rave reviews on their Facebook page), we see a big future for North America’s tiniest salon!
